My name is Ramen Ray, and I’m from a little village in Bangladesh. I grew up in a loving home with my brother, my parents and my grandparents.

I knew when I was young that I wanted to do something to make a difference in the world. I see so many injustices in my society—women aren’t given the same status as men, those who practice the predominant religion bully people with other beliefs, and women who don’t wear traditional clothing are beaten in the street.

But I believed that a girl could achieve anything. 

So I chose to learn how to communicate to the world through web design. I enrolled in a tech school and biked 10 km every morning to get to school on time. Unfortunately, the computers were outdated, so I took a loan and purchased my own laptop. Then, I studied hard and received my degree in computer design after 4 years.

I began my business as a way to help other business owners while supporting my family. My grandma has suffered a stroke, so I care for her every day. And thanks to my work, I’m now able to provide better medical care for my family.
